The Soft List #1
List #1
Welcome to The Soft List: A roundup of things I’m loving, including little joys, small wins, music, shows, habits, quotes, moments, and more.
Me 🤝 Parenthood - my comfort binge. I was first introduced to this show by my college roommates my sophomore year, all of us went through our own individual journeys of watching the show, but we all made sure to get together and hold onto each other during the last episode (if you know, you know). Now, I turn to this show when life feels heavy and hard and unpredictable. Living life with the Bravermans for a while always help ease the burden of a tough season.
Cardinals - I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately. It makes me feel held to know my people are watching over me.
Apple Music > Spotify - I have been an active Spotify user for over 10 years, but lately I’ve been so fed up with the algorithm feeding me the same rotation of around 30 songs in every playlist. I feel like Spotify has made it incredibly hard to find new music which is so different from how it started out. I’ve been trialing Apple Music and it’s actually made me enjoy music and find new artists again.. so maybe I’m converted?
On that note, Djo - I can’t stop listening to the new album, it’s so good! I’m not sure where he draws inspiration but this album reminds me so much of a mix of The Beatles and Wallows. It’s a really interesting and dynamic album, and I feel like he’s really hit his stride and that’s exciting to see.
Armchair Anonymous a la Armchair Expert Pod - these are my favorite episodes. For starters, the stories are so entertaining and I find myself laughing, cringing, and gasping along with Monica and Dax. I also just love hearing the armcherry community interact with Monica and Dax; they’ve created something really special and unique and it always makes my heart warm to hear real stories from real people. It somehow makes you feel a little less alone in this world.
And with that, I’ll leave you with my first soft list - and thank you @eggsdoodz for this image which accurately describes the making of this post.
If you’re reading this, I hope you have a great week <3
